District Governor Santhana Naidu

Dear Rotary Friends and Leaders,

Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies published a report earlier this month indicating that with just 563 paid employees globally, Rotary International annually mobilizes volunteer efforts equivalent to nearly 27,000 full-time paid workers. This study also revealed that the efforts of Rotary volunteers save communities an estimated US$850 million in service costs per year.

We should all be proud of the impact and value of services we are contributing to the health, education, and welfare of communities across the world! Thanks for all of the time and effort you put into guiding your clubs in a fellowship that improves our communities. And thank you for helping Rotary get just a little closer every day to achieving a world without polio. Our entire District leadership team is grateful for all that you do as Rotarians.

We continue to make tremendous progress as a district. During this Rotary year, we have increased our membership by 47 (3% increase) and raised over $100,000 in less than six months! Kudos to all the club Presidents and leaders, Assistant Governors, district membership and foundation teams, and district admin Bettye for all of their hard work. A special shout-out to Bloomington and Columbus clubs for leading our district in membership and giving, respectively.

As we enter the second half of the Rotary year, please keep up your efforts to Grow Rotary, tell our story, and support the Rotary Foundation. Please contact our Membership Chair Lance Eberle, Foundation Chair Laura Carie, Assistant Governors or me if we can be of assistance in developing a membership action plan or talk about the Foundation.

Happy New Year!

Yours in Rotary,

Santhana

We are excited to announce our next RLI opportunity will be February 29th, 2020 in Bloomington!
Rotary Leadership Institute is designed for those Rotarians who have the potential and willingness to engage in future club leadership to provide them with a quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills that are so important in voluntary organizations. The leadership skills obtained at an RLI event will help not only in their Rotary career, but will apply to their leadership efforts professionally, as well.  Registration and program information is available here.

Have something that you want your fellow Rotarians to know about?  Just reply to this email with anything that you would like to include in the bulletin.
