This Week's Program:

Darrell Blocker – Rotary Foundation speaker from the Jasper Rotary Club

Darrel Blocker is the Senior Vice President and CFO for the Springs Valley Bank and Trust Company.  He's been a member of the Rotary Club of Jasper Indiana since 2005.  Since joining Rotary he has developed a passion as speaker for the Rotary Foundation.  We are privileged to have Darrel as our guest speaker during Foundation Month.

District Governor Santhana Naidu

Dear Rotary Friends,

Thanks to all of your and the membership committee’s hard work to Grow Rotary. I am happy to report that we are starting to see a positive momentum in our district membership! While we still have a long way to go, it’s exciting to see clubs take a closer look at new membership types, meeting formats, develop recruitment and retention plans, explore satellite clubs, etc.

I have another exciting announcement to share with all of you. We are introducing a new award called “District Governor Citation”, modeled after the RI Presidential Citation, to recognize clubs who are working towards growing Rotary and making it family-friendly.

As we get closer to the end of another year, we gratefully pause to wish you and your family a warm and happy Thanksgiving. I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication by putting service above self, and making a difference in our local communities and around the world. I am especially grateful for all of your friendships, opportunities this great country has provided me, a supportive employer, and my family. May the good things of life be yours in abundance, not only on Thanksgiving but throughout the coming year.

Yours In Rotary Service,

~Santhana

New Albany Rotary Foundation Grant Request Deadline is Approaching

We are working to "connect" with our community by seeking  worthy projects in our area that might address one of Rotary's six areas of focus.  Do you know a group or organization that has a project that is attempting to address a need, such as Promoting Peace, Fighting Disease, Providing Clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Saving Mothers and Children, Supporting Education, or Growing Local Economies?

Help us help our community address a recognized need through our New Albany Rotary Club Foundation.   If you have a suggestion or know of a project, please let me know as soon as possible.  Feel free to send a copy of the application, that can be accessed at this link, to the group or organization that might be interested in applying.

Don't forget - the deadline for any applications for this cycle is December 1, 2019!

Thanks for all you do to "connect" to our community and provide "service above self" through your Rotary Club.

~Andrew Atchison, Chair
New Albany Foundation and Allocation Committee

Whether you're an alumnus, supporter or community member of the New Albany Floyd County Schools, we want to connect with you!

To help us do just that, we've officially launched NAFC Alumni Nation, an online community where you can stay connected to an alumni directory where you can submit your name and connect with old friends and classmates. You can also receive regular updates and articles, along with a wide range of information on special events, mentoring, and volunteer opportunities.

We invite you to claim your profile or sign up for NAFC Alumni Nation today and explore all it has to offer. Thank you for being such an important part of what makes our local school district so amazing.

Angel Tree Collection Continues This Week!

Our annual friendly fundraising competition ends this week to benefit the Salvation Army Angel Tree.  Consider a donation to help us beat our competition at the Clarksville and Jeffersonville clubs.  We would love to have our esteemed President win the privilege of wearing the halo and wings.  Please make plans to join us on December 5th at Green Tree Mall to shop for our angels!
Have something that you want your fellow Rotarians to know about?  Just reply to this email with anything that you would like to include in the bulletin.
