Greetings from club president Joe Glover
New Albany Rotary Members and Friends:
It has been a joy to be the club president of the Rotary Club of New Albany these past six months.
My greatest pleasure has been to witness our club's enthusiasm, dedication, and sustaining spirit. Our members' flexibility, willingness to adapt, and giving attitude have been overwhelming during a challenging year.
For example, our club's dedication to our annual Angel Tree service project has exceeded all of my expectations. I have never seen such an enthusiastic and comprehensive response from a group of Rotarians. It would have been readily understandable if we fell short of our Angel Tree goal this year due to the pandemic, but instead, our club stepped up, and we had a record-setting year of support for children in our community. In total our Rotarians have donated enough to adopt 105 Angels in our community. I am so proud.
While we have already done so much as a club, I want to encourage each of you to personally think about a creative and new way you and your family can support someone in need during this holiday season. This gesture can be small, but you never know the impact of taking the time to help another can have on someone's life. There is not much we have been able to control in 2020, but this act of kindness is entirely in our control, and that is powerful. Remember… One Profits Most Who Serves Best.
How fortunate am I to wish you and yours Happy Holidays, and I look forward to achieving even greater heights alongside each of you in the New Year.
~Joe Glover
