Breakthrough

The Matt Campbell Era notched its first victory in resounding fashion on Saturday with a 44-10 beatdown of an overmatched San Jose State squad.  I'm not going to pretend that this is the cure of all the Cyclone ills, but it sure was nice to be on the right side of a blowout. Coach Campbell and his staff have these kids moving in the right direction and the progress from that first game is apparent.  A very good Baylor team comes to Ames this week so that progress will be tested in a major way.  Steady improvement throughout the season is what we need, but an upset over a highly ranked Baylor squad sure would be nice.
