December & January Newsletter

Winter Wonderland
 December 14th & 21th

We  are paired with a child to help them as they walk through the Club and do a small craft, select a toy, take a photo with Santa and get hot cocoa and cookies! There are a lot of families but that means there is a lot of cute kids. We have a chance to talk to them and learn their passion. Although we spend little time with each kid, we have made an impactful bond with them and we hope they feel the same.

Barnes and Noble Gift Wrap Fundraiser
December 16th - 19th

Partnering up with Barnes and Noble, we wrap gifts for the customers of the bookstore for the upcoming Christmas holiday! At this fundraising event, we have met amazing customers and amazing people from other clubs. This is also a good opportunity for some of our members to learn how to gift wrapping too!

December Divisional Council Meeting
December 21st

Interclubbing with other colleges within the Citrus Division, CKI@OCC spends time with our precious Kiwanians, gifts white elephant, and do all kinds of fun tabletops throughout! Thank you to our district officer for setting this us!

New Year Party
January 1st

We start the New Year right celebrating with friends and alumni!

KIWIN'S Candidate Training Conference SAA
January 11th

In order to make sure that this monthly event runs smoothly, our members help logging on/off school computers, guiding students to their designated classrooms, and ensure the safety of all attendees! This is the fun time where CKI@OCC meets with our high-school, sister club, KIWIN, and helps teach them life skills.

Friendly Center Food Distribution
January 15th

Inter-clubbing with CSUF Circle K,  the members of CKI@OCChelps distribute groceries to the Stanton community! We have a hand-on experience with local community people.

Welcome Tables
January 27th and January 28th

We will be sitting at tables in the center of Orange Coast College’s campus to help guide students to their classes. When new students need help looking for their classes, we will be there with maps to make sure they find what they're looking for. CKI@OCC members are starting the first school week strong.

Surf City Marathon
January 31st

CKI@OCC has a swell time volunteering at Huntington Beach. Prepping for the exciting marathon, the volunteers split up to set up, host the registration tables, and shirt stations. Thank you for our Vice President of Service John Park for organizing this event and helping to raise money for the club through this event.
