Sigfox Launches World’s First “IoT Network-As-A-Service", Bringing IoT Connectivity to Billions of Unconnected Devices


At the Sigfox World IoT Expo, Sigfox reaches a new milestone in the history of IoT, as it launches a suite of new services that will connect billions of wireless devices that are not yet connected to the internet. This game-changing development has been made possible by the cognitive capabilities of the Sigfox network and its Software Defined Radio technology, where all the network and computing complexity is managed in the Cloud rather than on the device. GCT Semiconductor Partners with Sigfox to Announce World’s First Hybrid (Cellular + Sigfox) Solution for Internet of Things


At the Sigfox World IoT Expo 2017 in Prague, a partnership was announced between GCT Semiconductor, a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, and Sigfox. GCT’s highly integrated single chip GDM7243I will support LTE Category M1/NB1/EC-GSM and Sigfox wireless IoT connectivity – making it a “hybrid” solution offering superior connectivity options for IoT applications with zero bill of materials (BOM) cost increase for adding Sigfox.
