The First Solar Powered Sigfox Base Station, Installed in the Surat Basin

Thinxtra has designed the first solar powered Sigfox base station which is being used by a customer tracking earth-moving equipments in the upstream gas industry around the Surat Basin (QLD, Australia). These Base stations can be deployed anywhere within just a few hours, providing up to 50km radius of Sigfox coverage.

Schneider Wonderware Online is now fully integrated with the Thinxtra Xkit

The Wonderware Online IoT platform is now integrated with the Sigfox back-end and the Thinxtra devkit for a live demo. A complete tutorial is available to help you create callbacks in the Sigfox backend to view parsed messages from the Xkit, on the Wonderware Online Insight platform. Check the tutorial.

Australian First: Robotic Lawnmower GPS Tracked with HidNseek Digitraq

Thinxtra’s QLD-based partner, Smarter Technology Solutions had a bit of fun, GPS tracking the autonomous robotic lawnmower by Husqvarna at Ipswich North Oval (QLD) with Digitraq PV. The device is a simple solar powered tracker connecting to the cloud via Sigfox.

Hackfest Sunshine Coast - Two Big Wins for Thinxtra

The two teams using the Thinxtra Xkits won the award in their respective categories:
• Eleven Year old Jack Ryan won an Award in the Student category for his connected skateboard, demonstrating how the Xkit accelerometer attached to the skateboard can be used to determine speed and identify tricks allowing multiple connected skateboards to compete virtually.

• HealthiUp solution won the award in the Hardware hack category and won overall third place for connecting the public space gyms to pull metrics on the use of equipment by individuals. Attaching a Xkit to each piece of equipment can provide valuable information to the council.
