On behalf of the Board of Directors, I write today to share the news that Sidney Hargro has accepted a new position as the founding executive director of the LeadersTrust and will be leaving his position at Philanthropy Network. The LeadersTrust is a national organization that offers long-term, high-touch, and trust-based investment in leaders of social change organizations and movements.
We want to offer Sidney our sincere gratitude for his service and leadership over the past four years, and wish him all the best in his new endeavor. His last day with the Network will be August 13, 2021.
I am also pleased to announce that Shira Hodges, current Vice President, Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships, has accepted the role of Interim President. We are grateful to Shira, and we are committed to collaborate with her and support the full Philanthropy Network team throughout the leadership transition.
Philanthropy Network’s Executive Committee will lead the transition which includes developing a search committee, and engaging an executive search firm. We expect to choose a firm this summer with the goal of naming a new President by the end of 2021.
Let me assure you that the Executive Committee and full board are committed to maintaining focus on our core strategic and programmatic priorities so that we maintain our momentum during the transition, and to naming a new leader that will build on the progress we’ve made in the past four years.
We will communicate with you about the next steps in the coming weeks. As always, we’re grateful for your continued support and participation in the Network, and we welcome your input as we move forward. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any other member of the Executive Committee with questions or thoughts.
