This Friday, Saturday & Sunday, February 12–14!
Our own local silent film festival is coming this weekend, and it's all on-line, socially-distant, and includes interviews with many silent film historians including Leonard Maltin!
It's our 2nd annual film festival, but it's the first to include inductees into our Newhallywood Silent Film Hall of Fame. This year's inductees are Georges Mélièse and our own William S. Hart!
The festival theme is “Scandals and Tragedies,” but there's lots of fascinating data for all fans of silent film, including fans of William S. Hart.
Just click on the link above or on the image below to see the entire schedule!
Of particular interest to William S. Hart fans, be sure to look for:
- Festival Welcome & SCV in the Silents Tour - which includes a video tour of Wm S. Hart Park
- Newhallywood Silent Film Hall of Fame Induction of Georges Mélièse and William S. Hart
- Talk on Thomas Ince - Hart Films producer!
- Panel discussion on William S. Hart himself!
- Screening of rare Hart Film “Square Deal Sanderson”
- Screening of the Hart film on SCV in the Movies: “The Toll Gate” including interview with “Silents Under the Stars” composer/performer Ray Lowe
So, we have your weekend planned for you, and we think you'll find it fascinating, fun, free and full of William S. Hart!
