Welcome to the May 2018 edition of the Europlanet outreach newsletter! This month, find out about how citizen scientists and Pro-Am collaborations have been supporting the Juno mission to Jupiter. It's your last chance to register for a best practice workshop in Athens on using evaluation tools to measure the impact of your outreach activities and to register for the Europlanet Summer School 2018, which combines ground-based observations with science communication training. Catch up on some of our recent webinars on going back to the Moon and exploring Mars on Earth. News from partners includes an update on World Space Week and the launch of a new Paxi video from ESA about the Greenhouse Effect.

If you would like to share your news, resources, events, or any other outreach-related information with the group in the next newsletter, please email us!

New views of Jupiter workshop showcases Pro-Am collaborations for Jupiter and the Juno Mission

Nearly 50 of the world’s leading observers of Jupiter, members of NASA’s Juno mission team, and citizen scientists from across the globe took part in a workshop at the Royal Astronomical Society/Linnean Society in London on 10-11 May. ‘New Views of Jupiter: Pro-Am Collaborations during and beyond the NASA Juno Mission’, was supported through Europlanet 2020 RI’s NA1 networking activity.  Participants presented new observations and imagery from JunoCam and ground-based facilities, updates on the Juno mission and plans for future observing campaigns.

You can watch short interviews with attendees and find out more about a special exhibition of historical images of Jupiter from the archives of the Royal Astronomical Society and British Astronomical Association here.

A press release about the workshop and imagery presented at the meeting was covered in the international media, including Space.comCNETIFL ScienceEuropa PressTähdet ja avaruus.
