Medical Education Research Workshop at CSM

At CSM on Wednesday, February 12, don't miss the Measuring Educational Outcomes with Reliability and Validity & Program Evaluation and Evaluation Research (MERC) workshop.

This all-day interactive session will introduce attendees to the principles of score reliability and validity, using a combination of didactics and review of medical education research projects. Group exercises will help reinforce understanding of the main principles. Attendees will also learn fundamental principles of educational program evaluation and a strategy for developing an evaluation plan.

New Task Force: Pre-Admission Observation Hours

Interested in delving into the current practices and perceptions on use of pre-admission observation/volunteer hours to make recommendations to ACAPT?  A new task force is addressing these issues and is accepting applications.  See more about the task force here.

Clinical Reasoning Symposium II

Explore the teaching/learning and assessment dimensions of clinical reasoning at this Symposium on March 14-15 in Mesa, AZ. Registration will be available very soon and you can learn more here.

At the end of this two day symposium, participants will be able to: 

  • Discuss theoretical frameworks that facilitate examination of the development of clinical reasoning and education research  
  • Discuss the research designs and methods that supports educational research in clinical reasoning (mixed methods, qualitative) 
  • Identify strategies for developing collaborative relationships in research 
  • Identify, review and appraise foundational research related to clinical reasoning to provide a basis for future research questions and next steps
