It’s great to be back on deck following the very successful IAVE World Volunteer Conference in Augsburg, Germany. A big thank you to Tracey Fox for acting in my role while I was away.
This morning we held our last Volunteer Screening Information Session which has been part of a series explaining more about the changes that came into effect as of 1 November 2018. There has been a lot of interest which has been followed up by the Department of Human Services presenting a Press kit with useful resources on volunteer screening. It will help volunteer involving organisations prepare newsletter content with key messages, a fact sheet and social media graphics.
On Monday, all around the world, International Volunteer Managers Day was celebrated and it has been great to follow the hashtag #IVMD2018 to see all the great words of thanks to everyone who plays such an important part in the management of volunteers.
If you work with youth and have a great story to tell, we would like to let you know that it’s not too late to submit your story for the Dec/Jan issue of Vitality magazine. Please see article below and you’ve got to 16 November 2018 to get your story published.
