Hello everyone!

I wanted to write a message to update you on our Women’s Ministry plans in light of the COVID-19 precautions taken by Northview Church.  Pastor Jeff addressed the congregation via video yesterday. You can watch the video by clicking on this link.

What does this mean for Northviews Women’s Ministry?

  • Women’s Bible Studies: 1 2 3  John, Sanctuary Mental Health and Hebrews Part 3.  Since all large gatherings are suspended until Easter, we will NOT be gathering at Northview on March 30, April 1 and 2nd for our Women’s Bible Studies.  We will, however, provide opportunities to study together remotely beginning March 30, either via video recordings or an audio podcast. Stay tuned for more details!

  • Women’s Conference: May 1-2, 2020.   At this time we are planning to go ahead with the Women’s Conference (hosted at Northview Downes Road campus), and are looking forward to worshipping and learning with you! Feel free to invite friends and neighbours to join you. For information and to sign-up visit the website here: Choosing Rest.

  • Other questions? We are around and will be in and out of the office over the next few weeks. We each have a few holiday days scheduled over Spring Break, but please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns via women@northview.org.

What does this mean for you?

  • We ended off John’s Gospel by studying John 21, where Jesus tells his disciples: Come and Eat, Feed My Sheep, and Follow Me!  What does this look like for us?

  • Come and Eat - John 21:1-14 and John 6:22-25. Jesus provides his disciples with fish and bread and invites them to Come and Eat! Jesus is the Bread of Life who provides us eternal life and spiritual nourishment. Go to him during this time of uncertainty and let him refresh and restore you. Spend time in his word, listen to worship music, pray - Come and Eat.

  • Feed My Sheep  - John 21:15-17. Jesus reinstates Peter, and commissions him to Feed His Sheep - which is Bible shorthand for ‘take care of my people’ (Ezekiel 34 and 1 Peter 5:1-4).  While we are not all Peter, Jesus’ primary command for us as his people is that we love one another (John 15:12, 17, 17:20-21). During this time of uncertainty, consider how you can practically love God’s people (and others!) and so show the world that you are his disciples  - Feed His Sheep.

  • Follow Me - John 21:18-22. Jesus tells Peter to follow him even if his future path looks different or more difficult than John’s future path.  Each of us will face different challenges in the days ahead.  Fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-3) and consider how you can follow his example of serving others  (John 13: 12-17).
