The F10 FinTech Startup BizGees will be visiting the Zaatari UN Refugee Camp in
Jordan for customer interviews.

The F10 FinTech Startup BizGees will be visiting the Zaatari UN Refugee Camp in Jordan for customer interviews. They are organising interest free micro finance for UN Refugee Entrepreneurs.
BizGees founded by Ondrej Dusilek (CZ) and Zufi Deo (UK) in 2016. It has the ambition of ensuring UN Refugee Entrepreneurs are financially included. They are also looking to ensure UN Refugees remain members of the global community. They feel this combination of social and economic support will holistically meet the needs of the UN Refugees. They are looking to achieve this by using the latest developments in the financial services such as Blockchain technology and Alternative Finance.
Zaatari, a UN Refugee Camp located in Jordan was first opened in 2012 and is housing over 100’000 refugees fleeing from the violence in neighboring Syria. This Camp has developed an informal economy worth over $11m a month all by itself. The unofficial economy features market-like structures along the main street where goods like vegetables, basic household equipment and clothes can be purchased. The camp seems to be a prime example of a fringe society in need of support. BizGees support will ensure UN Refugees there can use entrepreneurship to create jobs and wealth for themselves and other Refugees.
With the help of F10, Switzerland’s premier FinTech Startup Incubator and Accelerator, the BizGees team is in the process of validating their hypotheses with potential customers. Therefore, the team will travel to Jordan. They will be supported by F10 mentor Lars Diener-Kimmich - head of LUDENSFABER, a think-tank focused on innovation solutions for corporate clients, Noiva – a Swiss humanitarian organisation working in the Middle East, and F10.
Visiting Zaatari UN Camp will help BizGees interact with their user base and give them an in-depth insight into their actual needs. This physical offline Interaction will be useful in multiple ways. For example, understanding unsaid rules UN Refugees have to live by, the local support already available, the various stakeholders they will need to work with, and regulations of this specific market are key for a successful technological solution that BizGees aims to offer these UN Refugee Entrepreneurs.
This trip has been supported by Andi Kunz, founder of Noiva. Noiva is supporting the BizGees trip to Jordan and helping them access local support to make the project a success. The trip will take place in February 2017.
