August seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye, yet now we are in the wonderfully chilly beginning of fall. Not too cold, but cool enough to curl up with a good book under a warm blanket. I hope that you all have been able to get some summer reading done, if not there is always today to read. I have been busy writing while trying to enjoy some of the great weather we have been having, below are the some of the highlights of the past month.

The results are in from round one of the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Challenge. The Flash Fiction Challenge entails a writer creating a full story of no more than 1000 words in 48 hours with a specific location, genre, and an object. The writers are placed into groups of 35 and only the top 15 stories receive points. The top 5 writers from each group at the end of two rounds will move on to round three.

I was given a bowling alley as a location, a rain coat as an object, and a crime caper as a genre. I created the short story titled "The Diamond Job". I am pleased to announce that The Diamond Job was chosen by the judges to be 14th, which means I am going into round two with 2 points, which happens this weekend.

The Diamond Job is available to be read here and the round two submission will be posted at a later date.

Project Persyphious

My new book Project Persyphious is available on As some of you may know it is being released as a serial, one chapter per month. Chapter 2 is available now.

Loose Ends

The short stories for All That Is Left Behind are coming along very well. Three of the stories, The Truth Will Set You Free, The Viral Life of Brandon Owens, and The Package are deep into editing mode. While a few more are still being worked on. This book will drag you along for a wild ride.

Keep checking the site under Writer's Thoughts, I am going to try to post more than once a month, as well, follow me on Scriggler. Details below.
Recommendations of the month:

Location: Your Local Library
Instead of putting in a recommended podcast this month, I wanted to put in a recommended location and that is your local library. In today's fast paced, instant gratification society, it is easy to forget to take some time to ourselves and relax. Your library is a great place to do this. They often have workshops, special events, and free passes to museums. If you haven't been in a while, go check it out.

Book: Remembering: Voices of the Holocaust

This is a very heavy read, but an immensely important read. It is the stories of some of the survivors of the Holocaust and some people whom were arms length (i.e. hiding Jews in Ireland). The stories are broken up into fragments, which allows you to ponder each piece. This book puts a very real face on history.
