To all Cambridge International Schools in Bangladesh,
The current pandemic is creating many challenges for education. Our priorities are keeping students and school staff safe, and helping students progress with their education in the fairest way possible. We also recognise that staff and students have worked hard to prepare for Cambridge International qualifications.
Given the recent communication on 16 March from the Ministry of Education, Secondary and Higher Education Division, it will not be possible to run Cambridge examinations in Bangladesh for the June 2021 Series. Whilst examinations are the preferred route for assessing students, directives from local education authorities mean this is not possible. Therefore, in Bangladesh, we will switch from exams to school-assessed grades to help make sure that students can progress to the next stage of their educational journey.
We have published the latest information about school-assessed grades on our website. Please read this information carefully. We will send more details about our school-assessed grades when we have it, including support for avoiding bias, determining students' grades and how to submit grades to us. In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact the British Council if you have any questions.
You can find all our latest advice on our Covid-19 information page.
Cambridge is working with the British Council to explore how to support private candidates who are registered directly with the British Council. Private candidates currently have two options:
1. Transfer to a school
2. Keep their entry with the British Council and await further updates.

We wish everyone in the Cambridge International community well at this time.
