BCCAT Updates for our Partners

SEPTEMBER 2017

Welcome to BCCAT's New Co-Chair

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Hamilton, President of Okanagan College, to the position of Council Co-Chair. Jim has extensive experience working with BCCAT and the BC Transfer System, having served as a Council a member from 2010-2016. He also served as President of the BC Council for International Education (BCCIE) for several years, and has been a dedicated advocate for the vital role of community colleges. We are looking forward to continuing our work together in the coming months and years – welcome Jim!

Special Thanks to Roger Barnsley

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our warmest thanks to BCCAT's outgoing Co-Chair, Roger Barnsley (President Emeritus, Thompson Rivers University). Roger has made significant contributions to the work of the Council over the years, serving on key committees and working groups as a Council member (1998-2004) and overseeing substantive discussions and developments in his role as Co-Chair (2011-2017). He also helped to advance inter-provincial transfer, co-signing two historic MOUs with other provincial credit transfer councils in recent years. Both BCCAT and the BC Transfer System have benefited from his leadership and engagement, and wish him the very best as he moves on to other projects.

Search for New Director, Transfer & Articulation

BCCAT is seeking an experienced post-secondary leader to take on the role of Director, Transfer and Articulation for a fixed term. The role requires broad and substantial knowledge of BC's post-secondary system and the BC Transfer System. Significant experience with curriculum development and/or course and program articulation is an asset. In addition to providing leadership across BC, the Director collaborates with jurisdictions across Canada and North America to share and evaluate successful practices. Further details are available here.
