COVID-19 Response & Recovery for Child Care & Wellbeing
Our goal is to ensure that young children have quality, nurturing, and safe child care and education during and post-pandemic. For more information about this effort and the coalition behind it, please visit our web hub here.

United Way Monterey County, VNA, and the Monterey County Health Department are seeking locations to host vaccination clinics for children 2 and up at NO COST. This is an opportunity to support families as they prepare for the school year by getting up to date on their immunizations. There are several opportunities available to help out in August and November! Contact Mary Ann Franscioni to schedule a clinic or for questions. See hosting requirements and available dates here.
The California Department of Public Health updated their guidance for K-12 programs on July 22.
Persons in a child care setting, regardless of vaccination status, do NOT need to quarantine after an exposure.
All exposed persons 2 years of age and older are strongly encouraged to wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days after exposure.
Anyone who develops symptoms, even if they previously had COVID-19 or are vaccinated, should isolate and get tested.

The Rate and Quality Workgroup at California Department of Social Services (CDSS) will be meeting to discuss reimbursement rates and quality standards for child care and preschool programs on Friday, August 5 from 8:30am - 11:30am.
