Hey guys! My name is Moa, and I’m your International Orientation Executive. It’s my job to make sure all you lovely incoming international students have a wonderful orientation week!

I’m an international student from Sweden. I’m going into my fourth year, majoring in Political Science. I thought moving here was the most terrifying experience of my life. Thankfully, it is also the most rewarding experience of my life.

Living at Innis, and being a part of the Innis community, is definitely one of the reasons that I felt at home in Toronto and at U of T. Innis provides great ways to get involved without making it intimidating or too time consuming. There is always someone around to talk to if you're feeling homesick or if you're having trouble with school. The Innis community made me feel comfortable and like I belonged, even though I was completely confused most of the time. Innis has always had my back. I really hope you guys will love Toronto and Innis as much as I do!

If you have any questions or concerns, whether it’s about orientation week or moving to Toronto or if you’re dying to know if Canadians really say “eh” all the time, feel free to email me at

See you soon!

Welcome to Innis! I’m Sarah, and I’m one of your Innis College International Experience Programming Committee Co-Chairs.

My goal is to help you in transitioning to Toronto, and to answer any questions you may have about the process, or about the city in general! Living at Innis Residence, I will be on campus twenty four-seven, and will be available to help you out in any way that I can! The International Committee will also be organizing a number of events throughout the school year, and I look forward to enjoying these events with you. Once again, welcome to Innis College, and I am excited to meet all of you.

I'm Judy, another of your International Experience Programming Committee Co-Chairs. I'm delighted to welcome you to Innis!

Going to university away from your home country can be challenging at times. Regardless of where you come from, or how familiar you are with Canada, you are likely to come across new and exciting experiences that will help you learn and grow.

Throughout your Innis experience, there are many offices, services, and people ready to help you make the most of your time here. The International Committee is designed to support you when you are exploring your university life abroad.

Our events will bring both international and local students together. You will hear about the experiences of other international students, who had the same puzzles as you. You will make friends from all over the world. You will fit into the community! As an upcoming third year international student, I can tell you that my time in Innis has been my happiest time in university life.

Any questions? Advice? Come to talk to Sarah or I! We are excited to hear from you!

In the Office of Student Life, the International Committee is comprised of the Innis Transition and Support Don, Patrick, and the two Co-Chairs, Sarah and Judy. Together they are here to aid in the smooth transition of international students to Innis, AND to provide cross-cultural programming to all Innis students, international and domestic! This year we are excited to bring to you our “Canadian Conversations” series. Come meet us at the Innis Clubs Fair during Orientation, join our committee, and come to our informational and social events starting in September!

Brought to you by the Innis Registrar's Office, Quick Queries IconQuickQueries is an online guide for Arts & Science students at U of T. The ELL program offers free, weekly, drop-in "Communication Cafés." This year, they are offered at Innis on Wednesday evenings from 5-7:00pm, beginning on September 14th. These workshops will give you practice in speaking at length, arguing a point, and participating in group discussions. The cross-cultural atmosphere is very welcoming!
New members are welcome at every meeting. Come to one Café, or come to all! The full schedule and locations can be found here:
