EPRA Monthly Brief
February 2018
As part of EPRA’s ongoing commitment to expand its investor outreach footprint across Europe, I’m particularly looking forward to our inaugural Iberian REIT summit on the 22nd of March (more details below). We are working in partnership with the Iberian Property and have a great line-up of speakers from Spanish SOCIMIS, the investor community and regulators, as well as other European REITs who will share their experience about the benefits our sector can bring to the market.
The event will be preceded by the first in a series of diversity breakfasts, led by Cristina García-Peri from Hispania and in partnership with WIRES – the Spanish association of women in real estate.
Our investor outreach efforts are of course not only focused in Europe, and this week we travelled to Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and Shanghai for a series of one-on-one meetings with investors and on the invitation of the Nomura Global Real Estate Forum, where I gave a keynote speech about the European listed real estate sector.
In the meantime, the team is busy with the Q1 index review, which will be published in the coming days, and the coordination of our various events, which will take place throughout the year.
As I prepare to celebrate my first year at EPRA, I would like to welcome our three newest members: Baker McKenzie, Foncière INEA and MAS Real Estate, and look forward to catching up with many of you at MIPIM.

Additional support for sustainability reporting

We are pleased to welcome AccountAbility, Ecorys, EVORA and JLL - Upstream Sustainability Services as members of the EPRA sustainability Best Practices Recommendations (sBPR) Advisory Panel. The panel was created to support our members in the implementation of EPRA’s key sustainability performance indicators and to raise the standards and consistency of sustainability reporting for listed real estate companies across Europe. The panel, composed of experts and professionals operating in the sustainability sector with a narrow focus on real estate, will advise property companies on the adoption of the new edition of the sBPR Guidelines, which now include ESG disclosure. All the queries submitted by EPRA members and assessed by the panel are published in the sBPR Q&A document.
