Food Truck Party: Vacation Bible Camp July 11-15, 9am to 4pm
3-6th grade (in Fall 2022) Cost: Free
Join us for this year's awesome Food Truck themed Vacation Bible Camp! Camp is a FULL DAY LONG camp! From 9-4:00p, Monday-Friday, we're going to have a blast talking and learning about God's great love for us.
You can sign up your campers here. Deadline for registration is June 20th (this gives time to order all the supplies needed for camp!)
Also, put on your radar the Picnic Party following camp from 4:15-6:30p. This will be a time when campers share what they did all week, plus there will be food trucks and entertainment too!
It takes many amazing servant leaders to make VBC week great! There are three different jobs available to sign up for. Please read the following carefully before selecting your dates:
Group Leaders (9th grade and up): Group leaders are assigned a group (ages Pre-K through 6th grade) for the week. In order to be a group leader, you need to be available every day of camp from 8:30a-4:30p.
Station Leaders (7th grade and up): There are five stations at VBC: Science; Recreation; Storytelling/Music; Snack; and Crafts. It is possible to sign up to help with a station half of the day or a full day. Simply select both the morning and afternoon time slot when you sign up.
Greeters (21+): Greeters are responsible for helping campers sign in or out of camp and also provide an extra layer of security while camp is running. You can sign up to help half day or full day.
NOTE: ALL SERVANT LEADERS (VOLUNTEERS) must attend a safety training prior to attending camp. Dates are Wednesday, July 6th at 6p and Sunday, July 10th at 10:30a. If you cannot make either time, please email Ariel to arrange an alternate date. NOTE: ALL GROUP AND STATION LEADERS must attend a leader training from 11a-2p on Sunday, July 10th. This is where you learn your role and help set up for camp week. If you are unable to attend, you must find a date prior to the week of camp for training.
For all the opportunities to volunteer visit here.
Worship
Lay Readers and Greeters. Readers will get the reading from Karen several days before Sunday. Greeters - what a great way to say hello to old friends and meet new ones. Greeters also do a headcount and take any money collected to the safe in the workroom. Training and written instructions are provided.
Communion Servers (4)
Communion Sunday is always the same day as the Children’s Service; this would be an excellent way to combine both and get your Family involved with the Communion experience. Instructions are provided.
Communion Steward (1-2+)
Another excellent opportunity to get your Family involved on Communion Sunday. Ideally, bread and juice would be dropped off at church on the Thursday before Communion Sunday. Cutting the bread and filling the juice cups take place before the service begins and instructions are provided.
Feed My Starving Children
We are transitioning to a Wednesday Morning schedule. We need three volunteers/week. Please check for openings through the church website.
Every Meal at Lyndale School (2)
This is a critical way to provide food for children and families who may not have enough to get them through the weekend. Usually takes place weekly on Fridays, but the schedule could be fluid due to school holidays. This is truly a joyous way to spread love and kindness in a school setting with darling children. There are many openings through the rest of the school year, which for Every Meal has been extended to June 17th.
Rides
Provide rides to medical appointments and more. Contact Liz for details.
If you have any questions, contact Liz McGillivary, Volunteer Coordinator, at liz.mcgillivary@lakeharrietumc.org.
