Greetings,

It's been a busy and varied end to 2019 here at Africa Oyé with industry conferences, board game launches and award shows a plenty!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us in both the Liverpool City Region Culture & Creativity Awards and the UK Festival Awards; read on to find out how we did...

And as always, we're hugely grateful to everyone who has supported us as an organisation and as a festival these past 12 months. We still need everyone's help to keep Oyé free and open to all, so please spread the word, buy some merch for Christmas and donate whatever amount you can using the Paypal button below and on africaoye.com. We very much appreciate it.

Peace, blessings, and all the best for 2020!

What a fantastic night it was at the inaugural Liverpool City Region Culture and Creativity Awards in the beautiful Lady Lever Art Gallery.

We were honoured to win the Impact Award for International Reach as well as the People's Choice Award for Outstanding Contribution to Culture!

We'd like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who voted for us to win - this means a huge amount to the whole team.

Big thanks also goes out to the night's sponsors, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, The Handmade Gin Company, Paddock Johnson ArchitectsUSP Creative and the teams at Wirral Borough of Culture and National Museums Liverpool!

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees - it was a brilliant showcase of the talent and creativity that our region has to offer.

Oyé On The Road

Rounding off a busy year of international music industry events and conferences, we were delighted to have representatives from the Africa Oyé team at Mundial Montreal and the Mozambique Music Meeting over the last few weeks.

Known as North America's World Music Summit, Mundial Montréal features a conference, networking events and one-of-a-kind concerts. The gathering shines the spotlight on over 100 talented musicians from every corner of the world, from Canada to Spain to Senegal to Korea.

Mozambique Music Meeting (MMM Festival) is a Festival and a Music Market simultaneously, incorporating other elements of Mozambique culture: it aims to celebrate cultural diversity through music, dance, fine arts, photography, food, and crafts.
