Seminar on March 18th Tax Seminar By Xiangdong Wu

Classroom 227
Tax Planning
Since the Trump tax reform has been passed by Congress and has become the law of the land,
many people want to know what to do in the new era of taxation. We therefore plan to give a
seminar on tax planning so that we can discuss solutions. It is a great time to give this seminar
also because it is the tax season.
We are a group of licensed financial professionals who have worked in the financial service
industry for many years and have helped many families on their financial planning, including tax
planning. We previously gave this seminar at multiple Chinese Schools and the seminar was well
received by parents.
We would share some concepts and knowledge on Tax Planning. Majority of Chinese families
are middle class families with W-2 income and have limited ways to save taxes. Many people
think about the current year’s tax only when considering tax saving, such as how much tax we
paid and how much money we can get back when filing tax return. Do we know how many
categories of taxes are there in the US? How many phases do we need to think about reducing
taxation? How about future tax rate projection? What kind of strategies we should take to reduce
taxation legally during our lifetime? What should we do in the Trump era of taxation after the
recent passage of new tax laws? These are the areas that we would cover in our upcoming
seminar. Taxation is a big issue in family financial planning and it is critical for us to know what
we can do to tackle this issue. This seminar will help us better understand how to save tax
through optimized strategies.
Note: the seminar will be given in Chinese.
Upcoming Seminar Schedule
4/1: College funding by Xiaodong Wu
4/8: Personal finance by Jieling Huang
5/13: Tax cur & job act: key element and opportunity by Jing Wang

The NCLS Support Education Program is celebrating its 12th anniversary! With the help of its group members' tireless and selfless contributions and efforts, NCLS board leadership, parents and teachers' support and students' participation, this program has become one of the prominent community service programs in Massachusetts.
You are cordially invited to join this year's fundraising dance party on March 31, 2018! Come for a wonderful night celebrating the coming of spring, and have fun! Contributions to the SEP will go the impoverished families of Henan province. Come support our local community in promoting education in China.
SEP works to help those in need. Each year, student participants work to raise money for provinces in rural China; this year, the students will be taking a trip to the first XinAn high school(新安县第一高中). This trip serves to allow our students to be more immersed in Chinese culture, learn about their own environments in contrast to China's and to better help those in need.
