As the SUPER PV project moves is at its final stage of development, the consortium is publishing its 6th project newsletter. In this edition, readers will find the most important updates:

  • Latest events
    • SUPER PV Summer School
    • Workshop “Optimization and operation of a photovoltaic power plant”
    • SUPERPV at EU PVSEC/WCPEC-8

  • Demonstration Sites updates
Summer School

The summer school took place on June 8th in a hybrid form at the University Mohammed V in Rabat, Morocco. In this occasion SUPER PV outdoor testing results were exposed, as well as interesting presentations from speakers from outside the consortium.

Workshop “Optimization and operation of a photovoltaic power plant” (September 21st and 22nd)

The event was held in hybrid form, on-site at AYESA headquarter building in Sevilla (Spain) and online. SUPER PV partners introduced to the public the different innovations developed in the project; some presentations were “Recycling of SI based PV Panels”, “Use of data for preventive / predictive O&M” or “A Fault-Tolerant Power Converter For Solar PV Applications”.

The workshop is available online

SUPERPV at EU PVSEC/WCPEC-8

On the occasion of the WCPEC-8 our project coordinator; Julius Denafas (SoliTek), participated in the parallel event "EU Funded Projects Helping to Raise the Competitiveness of the EU PV Industry" jointly organized with HIGHLITE, HIPERION, SUPER PV and GO-PV project, presenting SUPER PV project and its main achievements.

The project presentations demonstrated that Europe remains the center of Photovoltaic (PV) innovations, and that these are developments of common European interest. Taking into consideration the current world events, which have meant, among other things, an exceptional increase in energy prices, more and more people have realized that PV is the cheapest way of generating electricity. Therefore, constant innovations, resulting in reduced cost and increased energy efficiency, in PV are the key to attracting more interest from politicians and decision makers, as well as from investors.

In addition, SUPERPV participated in the WCPEC-8 exhibition showing samples of the innovations developed during the project. Also, videos of the work carried out in the context of the project by the different members of the consortium were presented.

Demonstration Site updates

SUPERPV project introduces several innovations and developments in 3 principal levels: PV module innovation, power electronics innovation and at the system integration level. All these were tested in our demo sites located in different locations across Europe and north Africa with variate climate environments.

At the Tozeur demonstration site, the module-level innovations were tested in extreme hot and dry conditions. In contrast, the Vilnius demo site tested module level innovations in cold weather conditions, demonstrating that our innovation works in a variety of climates.

Power electronics innovations are shown at our demo site in Rabat, Morocco, which consist of 15 modules.

The demo site located in Seville; Spain integrates important innovations at the system level showing the gains and performance increase.

The SUPERPV project is also responsible for technologies and materials, innovating and promoting recycling, integrating aspects of the circular economy.

Committed to increase PV development, SUPER PV project intends to keep the demo sites available once the project is finished, in order to continue research and innovations.
